The Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia "San Juan Bosco" (UNPSJB) is a public university in southern Argentina, established in 1980 through the merger of two national universities. With its central faculty in Comodoro Rivadavia and campuses across several Patagonian cities like Puerto Madryn, Trelew, Esquel, and Ushuaia, UNPSJB is known for its strong focus on regional development, particularly in fields such as engineering (especially petroleum), natural sciences (including marine biology and geology), and social sciences. It was notably the first Argentine university to extend its academic offerings to residents of the Falkland Islands, translating programs into English and establishing special scholarships.
