Shahrood University of Technology (SUT) is a prominent public research university located in Shahrud, Semnan Province, Iran. Established in 1973 as the Shahrood College of Mines, it gained university status in 1994 and became a university of technology in 2015. SUT is particularly known for its strong engineering disciplines, including mining, electrical, mechanical, and robotics engineering, and was the first university in Iran to offer robotics engineering at the bachelor's level. The university is situated in the city of Shahrud, known as the "City of Grapes," approximately 410 kilometers east of Tehran.
