Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a public research university located in the vibrant city of Liverpool, United Kingdom. Tracing its origins to the Liverpool Mechanics' School of Arts established in 1823, it gained university status in 1992 and is named after local businessman and philanthropist Sir John Moores.
